Volunteers

The Town of Louisburg is a very small municipality, however, the Town Council makes every attempt to provide a strong athletic program that our children can enjoy. Town staff consists of a Recreation Director and several part-time workers and umpires. These part-time staff members are compensated relatively little for the requirement of their commitment, thus generally provide their services for the love of the kids as much as for compensation!

Many parents and others in the community offer their time through volunteering, most often as coaches or assistance coaches. This civic participation is greatly appreciated and the program could not be operated without these people! We encourage anyone who wishes to volunteer in the Program to contact the Recreation Director who can assist you.

Please note that the Town’s insurance provider requires that all volunteers submit to a criminal background check and drug test in a DOT pre-employment form. The Town will take every opportunity to assure that those participating as leaders in the program are of good character, sound reputation, and serve as role models for the children whom they are coaching.
