Utilities and Infrastructure
The Town of Louisburg serves all properties within the corporate limits with a variety of utility services. The Louisburg Industrial Park is located adjacent to all utility services and there is ample capacity to serve even the highest need.
Water
The Louisburg Water Treatment plant provides potable water to all customers in Louisburg via the Tar River intake. The current plant has a capacity of 1,000,000 gallons per day with approximately 50% of this amount being consumed or allocated daily.
Wastewater
The Louisburg Water Reclamation Facility provides treatment to sanitary sewer discharges in Louisburg before returning the treated water to the Tar River for downstream consumption. The current capacity of the plant is 1,500,000 gallons per day with a current consumption and allocation of less than 50% daily. The Louisburg plant is a state of the art treatment plant and process which has received numerous awards and recognitions, including an EPA national award for operations. Electricity
Louisburg is the provider of local electric utility service. The Louisburg electric department prides itself with the highest quality of service and response. Linemen are always on call and respond within minutes to any problems encountered by customers. This response does not diminish “after hours”. Louisburg can provide you with whatever electric need you may have as well as options to reduce costs such as co-generation and demand reduction.

Natural gas services are provided in Louisburg by Public Service North Carolina and direct access is available at the Louisburg Industrial Park and many other industrial sites.
