Oakwood Cemetery

The Town of Louisburg owns and provides perpetual care for the Oakwood Cemetery. One of the oldest cemeteries in Louisburg, Oakwood is the final resting place of many notable citizens of Louisburg as well as patriots of the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Wars. The Town sells individual and multiple plot sites in the cemetery. Please contact the Business Office if you desire additional information about plots at Oakwood.

Plot sites are prices dependent on location within the cemetery:

The “Old Section” is located in the rear area of the existing cemetery and identification of grave sites in this area is limited to a “Flat-Flush type” marker. The cost of an individual plot for Louisburg residents is $250.00 if purchased in advance of death, and $300.00 if purchased at time of internment. Non-Louisburg residents have a cost of $450.00 per plot if purchased in advance of death, and $500.00 if purchased at time of internment.

Plot sites located in the “Avent Section” of the cemetery allow for the placement of raised headstones, monuments, and mausoleums. The cost for an individual plot in this section for Louisburg residents is $450.00 if purchased in advance of death, and $500.00 if purchased at time of internment. Non-Louisburg residents have a cost of $700.00 per plot if purchased in advance of death, and $750.00 if purchased at time of internment.

Persons purchasing multiple plots receive a discount as follows: 4 plots purchased together at the same time will have a 10% discount. Eight (8) plots purchased together and at the same time will receive a 20% discount.
